Printers?

| | | | |

Hello Montana Linux Users,

I've had Zer0 success using my printers with Linux. I'm getting tired of putting my doc's on a usb then going to XP or OS X to print. CUPS never seams to have my particular printer. The drivers the manufactures offer don't seam to work with the distributions I've been using either. Before I run out and buy another printer, I would love to hear from those of you who have had Linux printer/printing success!

I've been running Ubuntu, Debian, and Fedora 8. At the office we have a HP 2600, at home I run a Brother MFC 420cn.

I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks in Advance,

Thomas

Using Ubuntu 7.04/7.10 with two HP printers. PSC 2700 and a Photosmart 7660. Both worked with no issues using the drivers provided by Ubuntu. I think it was the hplip software. I was able to scan, print with the PSC 2700.

Brother products in general seem to have issues, from what I've seen.

Not a whole lot of help for you.

Linux and printers

I have an Epson Color CX6000 that works fine on Ubuntu 7.04. UbuntuStudia 7.10 and Ununtu 8.4.
This printer setup the first time using the Printer setup utility.
